OUR CERTIFICATIONS – PEFC CERTIFIED WOOD

Vasto Legno’s commitment to responsible sourcing and sustainable forestry is demonstrated by its OLB certification, obtained in 2010, and its PEFC certification, achieved in 2025.

Following the introduction of the PEFC standard for the Congo Basin in 2022, Vasto Legno aligned its operations and sourcing procedures to meet the highest requirements for traceability and sustainable forest management. As a result, the company is among the first suppliers able to offer PEFC-certified volumes of African tropical hardwoods, ensuring fully traceable and responsibly sourced timber products.

PEFC is the world’s largest forest certification system in terms of certified forest area, promoting sustainable forest management through strict environmental, social, and economic standards.

OLB (Origine et Légalité des Bois), achieved in 2010, is an independent certification system ensuring the legality and traceability of timber throughout the supply chain. Its framework involves verification of compliance with applicable forest laws and regulations, contributing to transparent, responsible and sustainable hardwood sourcing worldwide.

The collaboration established with the Groupe SEFAC in Cameroon, in the Congo Basin has strengthened the responsibility and commitment of Vasto Legno regarding social, environmental and ethical issues connected to tropical hardwood sourcing and processing.
